Posted by 30 year old, Mr. Samir, an Omani national was suffering from a digestive system disorder for quite some time. He was unable to eat well or digest the food properly. He was experiencing constant stomach ache and uneasiness. In order to arrive at a proper diagnosis and go for the sutiable line of treatment, he and Mr. Faisal AL Balushi, his brother approached the Help to Heal Foundation team online.
Ms. Kauser, our patient coordinator got in touch with them. Both the parties discussed Mr. Samir’s health condition in great detail and exchanged medical reports and doctor’s opinon too. Ms. Kauser referred Mr. Samir’s case to Dr. Sonali Gautam, consultant gastroenterologist at Fortis Hospital, Vashi, Mumbai.
Dr. Gautam was of the opinion that Mr. Samir should fly down to India for a thorough medical check up and undergo a colonoscopy to rule any major digestive disorder to which Mr. Samir and his family agreed.
Ms. Kauser processed their invitation letter, medical e-visa paers and other related documents. She even arranged for concierge assistance to be provided through Mr. Wahid Kazi, our volunteer that included pick-up and drop from the airport, accommodation along with language assistance.
Mr. Samir and his brother in law arrived in India on 20th April 2019 for treatment. He underwent a thorough medical check up along with a colonoscopy at Fortis Hospital, Mumbai under the guidance of Dr. Sonali Gautam. Post the colonoscopy, Dr Sonali prescribed medications to be taken for life along with another round of check up after 6 months which Mr. Samir agreed to. He and his brother-in-law flew back to Oman by the April 28th, 2019. Also, he visited India for a check up after 6 months and was much better.
