Hip Replacement Surgery gives a new lease of life to people who are unable to live normally due to damage in the hip joint either due to wear and tear or onset of osteoarthritis.  Incidentally, this surgery is done by veteran orthopedic surgeons in India too with a high rate of success.

Help to Heal Foundation arranged for one such hip replacement surgery for 69 year old, Ms. Nancy Njeri from Kenya. Mr. David, her son got in touch with Ms. Namrata, our patient coordinator. Also, he stated that his mother weighed nearly 120kgs and had difficulty in walking as well as sitting. They exchanged medical reports and opinion of orthopedic surgeons in India for a better idea of the line of treatment that could be followed.

Ms. Namrata got in touch with Dr. Lalit Panchal of SL Raheja Fortis Associate Hospital, Mumbai who suggested that they should opt for a hip replacement surgery despite Ms. Nancy being on the heavier side. In fact, Dr. Panchal was confident of doing it with positive results.

Ms. Nancy and her family agreed for the hip replacement surgery option and hence decided to travel to India. Ms. Namrata processed their travel and visa papers enabling them to travel to India as soon as possible. Ms. Nancy and Mr. David arrived in India on July, 29 2019.

Ms. Nancy was admitted to the SL Raheja Hospital and a bilateral hip replacement was performed on her. Dr. Lalit Panchal had done a great job and Ms. Nancy recovered well. In fact, she was up and quite active within a week of her surgery.

Ms. Nancy and her son flew back to Kenya in August 2019 and they thanked Ms. Namrata along with the entire Help to Heal Foundation team for their efforts in helping Ms. Nancy to regain her mobility.
