Ms. Khawlah Ali Rashid from Iraq chose India for her total knee replacement

68 yr old Ms. Khawlah Ali Rashid from Iraq was suffering from intense knee pain. Unable to walk normally or long stretches, she experienced discomfort and unbearable pain. It was her daughter, Ms. Sabha Rashid who connected with the Help to Heal Foundation seeking suitable guidance regarding the available knee replacement treatments available in India.

Ms. Namrata, our patient co-ordinator got in touch with them and received Ms. Khawlah’s reports through mail. She referred her case to Max Hospital, Patparganj  and Dr. Anil Arora, the orthopedic surgeon suggested total knee replacement therapy.

Ms. Khawlah and her family agreed to the suggested line of treatment and agreed to arrive in India. Ms. Namrata acted swiftly and got the necessary travel papers ready enabling Ms. Khawlah to get herself treated in India as soon as possible.

Ms. Khawlah and her daughter arrived in India on 2nd July 2019. They was assisted with all field assistance by Mr Prashant,  After preliminary examinations, her total knee replacement surgery was performed smoothly and she recovered well. During this period, Ms. Khawlah was diagnosed with having some cardio issues.

After considering pros and cons of her diagnosis, cardiac treatment costs etc, they decided to proceed with cardiac treatment as well. Hence, Ms Khawlah underwent a CAG – coronary angiography too. In all, Ms. Khawlah and her daughter stayed in India for nearly 3 weeks. Post her recovery from the knee replacement surgery and CAG procedure, they returned home in a relieved and relaxed frame of mind.
