Mrs. Oyenike Kehinde from Nigeria exclaimed with tears in her eyes, ‘Thank God! I chose India to treat me for my spine problem.Special thanks to Ms. Namrata and the entire Help to Heal Foundation team who stood by me in these testing time.’
The first quarter of 2019 was extremely distressful for 40 year old Mrs. Oyenike as she was in extreme pain. Her back was hurting terribly and she could not climb stairs or sleep well too. She had to depend on someone else for her normal tasks too. With each passing day, it was becoming very difficult for her and her family members to help her around.
It was in such situation that she connected with the Help to Heal foundation seeking the scope of spine treatment available in India. She wanted exact details relating to the treatment cost along with the hospitals and doctors offering the treatment.
Ms. Namrata got in touch with them at one-to-one level and understood the actual condition of Mrs. Oyenike. Also, she received her medical reports and referred the case to Dr. Vikas Gupte of the Fortis Hospital, Mumbai. Ms. Oyenike weighed 120kgs which could complicate the matters to some extent.
It was Dr. Vikas’s suggestion that she should fly down to India for thorough check up and then proceed with the spine surgery if required. Ms. Oyenike and Bisayo Oluwatosin, her sister agreed to this suggestion. Ms. Namrata then processed their travel papers i.e. tickets, medical e-visas, visa invitation letters etc. They arrived in India on May 20, 2019 and were escorted to Fortis Hospital for check-up.
After in depth investigations including a MRI, she was operated for lumbar decompression i.e. a fusion surgery was done. It took her nearly a week to feel better and recover well. After some more days, she was declared fit to travel. Finally on June 10, 2019, she and her sister flew back home to Nigeria.
