32 year old Mr. Martin Yarkay of Liberia was searching online for reliable hospitals in India to perform his kidney stone removal surgery. He had left a query relating to it on the Help to Heal Foundation website.

Ms. Namrata, our patient coordinator responded to his query by giving details of the doctors and hospitals in Mumbai offering the treatment along with approximate costing of it too. Mr. Martin connected with Ms. Namrata through email and phone after going through the information and estimates provided.

She sought his medical reports and understood the condition he was going through. His major complaints included difficulty in passing urine and constant stomach ache. She referred his case to Dr. Pankaj Maheshwari of Fortis Hospital, Mumbai.

Dr. Pankaj Maheshwari wanted to physically examine the patient. There were chances that the stones could be removed through medicine as he wanted to avoid the surgery if possible. Hence, Mr. Martin flew down to India for the same on June 2, 2019.

Upon actual investigations, it was revealed that Mr. Martin would have to undergo surgery since there were 3 large sized kidney stones. He was operated soon and in a week’s time he recovered quite well.  He returned to his home country on June 13th 2019 and was grateful to Ms. Namrata and the entire Help to Heal team for their efforts in recovering his health.
