Kenyan National Mr. Salim Ahmed underwent a successful Kidney Stone Removal Surgery in India

People suffering from kidney stones have a different set of issues. They have problems in passing urine and also experience some sort of pain in their kidneys.

Kidneys are one of the most important organs of our body. Amongst the multiple tasks they perform, the main ones are maintaining the fluid balance in our body, removing toxins from our body, help in producing red blood cells and so on. But when kidneys do not function properly due to presence of kidney stones, it becomes inevitable to get them removed through the best possible procedure or surgery.

Mr. Salim Ahmed from Kenya sought our advice on kidney stone removal procedure available in India. He connected with our Help to Heal foundation team himself as he wished to get kidney stones removed from his kidney.

Ms. Prachi, our patient coordinator discussed his condition with him in great detail. He complained of pain in the kidneys and passing urine. He was a hypertensive patient. Also, he sent his medical reports through mail for second opinion from an expert.

Ms. Prachi referred him to Saifee Hospital and they suggested him to visit India for further investigations and physical checkup. He and his family agreed for the same and Ms. Prachi prepared their travel papers including medical e-visas, tickets and hotel accommodation and so on for Mr. Salim and Mr. Ali, his nephew. The other family members were in constant touch with the Help to Heal volunteers team and kept themselves updated.

Mr. Salim and his nephew arrived in India on 25th March 2019 and he got himself admitted in Saifee Hospital, Mumbai After a fresh round of medical reports and clearing the pre-operative routine procedures, Mr. Salim underwent the Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PNL) Kidney Stone removal surgery. The surgery was successful and the kidney stone was removed. He was hospitalized for one week after his surgery for monitoring his progress, as required. Soon, he was discharged and flew back to his home in Kenya.
